Today’s treat is Patisserie Clover Marrons Glaces.
マロングラッセです。
Marrons Glaces are chestnuts candied in sugar syrup and glazed.
マロングラッセはクリをシロップに漬け込んだお菓子。
They are too sweet for me. I would cut them up into small pieces and mix it with nuts, use as toppings for ice cream.
私にはちょっと甘すぎるこのお菓子。小さく刻みナッツと混ぜて、アイスクリームのトッピングに使おうかしら。

Today’s treat is Marks & Spencer All Butter Lemon Shortbread Thins.
今日はマークス&スペンサーの薄型バターレモンショートブレッド。
Marks & Spencer is one of the top British retialers and I particular like their high quality food products.
マークス&スペンサーはイギリスのトップデパートの1つ。クオリティが高い食品が私のお気に入り。
This lemon shortbread thin is crisp and thin compared with traditional Scottish shortbread, and has rich lemon taste.
この薄型レモンショートブレッド、スコットランドの一般的なショートブレッドよりサクサクしていて、レモンの香りがいっぱいです。

Today’s treat is a horn shaped ginger cookie.
今日のおやつはホルン型のジンジャークッキー。
I had my afternoon tea in the basement of the artist materials shop, Gekkoso in Ginza. Here the tea menu is simple, but it offers great atmosphere, a friendly and helpful shop keeper, and I had a lovely encounter with Misako Ichijyo, an artist currently showing her oil paintings at the shop’s gallery.
銀座の画材店、月光荘の地下にある喫茶室にてアフタヌーンティー。メニューはシンプル、でも雰囲気が素晴らしく、スタッフもフレンドリーで気が利く方です。店内のギャラリーで油絵を展示していた一條美瑳子さんと楽しい出会いがありました。
Simple afternoon tea and ginger cookie, served with nostalgia.
懐かしさを感じる素朴なティーとクッキー。
I am already missing it!

Today’s treat is Meiji “Takenoko no Sato” strawberry chocolate cookie in the shape of bamboo shoots!
竹の子型のイチゴチョコ・クッキー、明治たけのこの里！
Slightly bitter crispy cookies covered in strawberry and milk chocolate.
ストロベリーとミルクチョコに覆われ、ほろ苦いけどクリスピーなクッキーです。
It was Bess’s choice, inside the box are indivdually wrapped bamboo shoot shaped cookies.
これはベスのチョイス。箱の中には、竹の子型のクッキーが一つ一つ包装されています。

Today’s treat is a delicate looking traditional Japanese sweet called jo namawagashi.
今日のおやつはこの繊細な上生和菓子。
It’s too pretty to be eaten. I stared at it for a long time before I finally ate it with a cup of green tea.
食べるのがもったいないほどカワイイ。しばらく眺めた後、ようやく緑茶とともに食べました。
The reason why I have chosen this for today’s treat is because I bought a new Japanese tea cup.
なぜこの和菓子を選んだかって？それは新しいお茶碗を買ったから。
Look! I bought it becasue it has the Goddess of Mirth “Otafuku” at the bottom!
ほら、底におたふくがあるでしょう！
