Kyoko & Si-Ho Sup Vol.17: Tokiiro x Wafflish Waffle

I went to Wafflish Waffle last Saturday to see the Tokiiro x Wafflish Waffle Green Style Fair.  Tokiiro is founded by a husband and wife team specialized in succulent plant arrangements.  The two award winning plant stylists work with plants that are complementary in colour and texture, creating soothing and calming palettes.

先週土曜、「Green Style 季色」を見にWafflish Waffleへ。多肉植物アレンジ専門の近藤夫妻による季色。数々の賞を受賞した作品は、色彩や質感が素晴らしく、見ていると穏やかな気持ちになります。

On the wood deck in front of Wafflish Waffle, I found an eye-catching display of  various succulent plants arranged in unique containers.

There were also wreaths for sale. I think they would make beautiful home decorations and mistletoes for Christmas.

Here is another example in a larger pot.

I long for a mini garden surrounded by herbs and subtle coloured succulent plants, where I could sit in the sun, have tea, and think about life……

Or taking a stroll with babies in a stroller!

I borrowed these cute as a button Maileg baby mice from Wafflish Waffle to fullfil my imagination.  They are just the right size for tiny hands to hold on to.  I am a little greedy, I want to take them all home!

The Tokiiro x Wafflish Waffle Green Style Fair is taking place between 26th February to 13th March.

Green Style 季色は2月26日から3月13日までWafflish Waffleで開催。

Today’s treat is Matsukazeya “Aji Okonomi” senbai (rice crackers) .

I love senbei.  They come into all sorts of flavors, shapes and sizes.  The one which I am holding is the legs of a pressed squid.

There are 9 types of thin rice crackers in the bag, each of a different flavor.  For example: pale green for wasabi; pink for shrimp; the long and narrow one is plain rice and seaweed.

It’s good that they are being divided into tiny bags, otherwise I would have kept on eating them!

Today’s treat is Kyoko’s homemade strawberry crumble.

Yes!  I made my favorite dessert again!  This time I used strawberries instead of apples.

Fruit crumble is very easy to make, it could be ready to serve in less than an hour.

It almost reaches the end of the strawberry season in Japan, so I have decided to make the strawberry crumble while they are still available.

The tastiest part of this dessert is the crumble, so I covered the strawberries with a thick layer of the crumble!

Today’s treat is mixed fruits and cream crepe at Omotesando Cafe.

今日のおやつはOmotesando Cafe (表参道カフェ)のフルーツ&クリームクレープ。

I was quite pleased with my afternoon treat today, the mixed fruits and cream crepe was light and refreshing.

The fruits were strawberries, blueberries, and kumquats marinated in sugar syrup.  I love eating fresh kumquats, but it was the first time I had the sweetened ones, it tasted surprisingly good.

Here is me with a cup of caramel latte.

Today’s treat is Waitrose hazelnut and milk chocolate cookies.

These mouth watering cookies are produced by Waitrose, a supermarket chain in the United Kingdom offering decent and quality food .

I was thrilled to have found the Peacock supermarket in Daikanyama.  It has a small selection of Waitrose food products.  I go there every month to stock up on their tea bags, pasta sauces, spaghetti…….

…….and these cookies are a must!!!

What?  I felt asleep in front of the cookie? That was a rare scene!  I was up all night helping E.L. to finish making the Kyoko-san Lavender Sachets for “nu”, a lovely shop in Takasaki in Gunma.  I hope they like my craft skills!
